A-B-C Technique to Refocus

Pausing, awareness of self and our body AND consciously being able to shift our focus in the moment is an important lesson to learn and I want to share this technique with you. It’s as simple as “A-B-C”:
Awareness – What am I thinking I’m feeling? What do I think is happening? What is my emotion trying to get me to do? Emotions is what we do in our body to trigger reactions such as anger.
Awareness of your body’s reaction – What is my body doing in reaction to what’s happening?
Balance – Balancing the body by feeling feet on the ground and body centered. Also Balance your attention and awareness to all things around you rather than just fixed on just the one thing triggering you.
Core – Relax the body and face starting from relaxing the core, tongue, jaw, throat, shoulders neck and belly. Engage some Movement even if it’s a smile, making a silly face or dance. Once you’ve relaxed your core can expand your vision and shift your focus.
Learning this A-B-C and doing it in the moment will help to shift your focus and get back into creating what you love. It can take you from feeling down to lift you back up and clarity on what to do next.
So, when things feel chaotic and mad go back to “A-B-C”.
We are natural creators and it is easy to go off course, loose focus and things go out of control creating drama and sadness BUT you can choose in the moment to shift your focus back to your body physically to get back on track. It takes practice and we learn along the way to tap into our body wisdom with this simple “A-B-C”.
